Hamm's Building lands McNaughton's Salumeria

Star chef Thomas McNaughton is taking his Salumeria concept to the Hamm's Building.

TMG Partners has signed a lease with Salumeria, a deli and larder from the Ne Timeas Restaurant Group, to the lobby space of the Hamm's Building at 1550 Bryant Street on the eastern edge of the Mission District next to Sports Basement.

The Hamm's Building is being renovated to bring the former brewery back to its industrial roots. The exterior will feature a renovated brick facade, new steel windows, and industrial-style entrance canopy. Inside will boast custom-designed steel light fixtures, polished concrete floors, mahogany wood paneling, and a new penthouse and roof deck complete with fire pit and city views.

"Salumeria will enrich the vitality of both the Hamm's Building and the immediate area of the Mission District," said Adam Chall, a partner with TMG Partners. "The food program will be an exciting addition to the lobby of this iconic property. The Hamm's Building was already an amazing environment in which to work, and it just got better."

Salumeria marries the traditions of the old world with the food culture of San Francisco. This second location will offer espresso drinks and a rotating menu of artisanal and seasonally inspired sandwiches, salads, soups, and antipasti. The menu has been creatively crafted by McNaughton, who serves as Ne Timeas' executive chef, as well as chef de cuisine Ryan Pollnow.

Yes, the place will offer Hamm's beer as well as a selection of Italian and Californian wines and beers.

"The Hamm's Building is a great environment for Salumeria. Both the building and the neighborhood provide an excellent backdrop for the food and the overall experience," said McNaughton.

Over the past year, more than 20 new leases have been signed at the Hamm's Building including Asana, founded by Facebook founder Dustin Moskovitz, and Rdio, backed by Skype founder Janus Friis.
